Our Ohio Trip

We've been in Ohio for the past week and have had lots of fun hanging out with the Monday family. The only problem was is that we all have had the stomach flu, all of us but Davin. We arrived on the evening of the 13th in Detriot and Warren Monday, Michael's dad treated us to pizza because he was watching Melissa's kids while she came and picked us up from the airport. That night Hyrum threw up in Melissa's bed and then the next day Bridger threw up and had the runs. Then the day after that James was sick, then on Thursday Melissa and I were sick. We thought that we were going to have a break of sickness, and we went to the Air Force Museum in Dayton on Friday, which was really cool, but Doug's stomach was starting to cramp up and by the time we got back to Lima, he was feeling pretty sick. He only had a mild case of it and was better by Saturday. On Saturday morning, Alden woke up throwing up. He did his best to say he wasn't sick so he could go and play with his cousins. That morning we went to a parade at a local college in Ada and then we went over to the college and they had a bunch of free booths for the kids. They got to decorate cookies, eat free ice cream, Davin got his face painted, got free little polar bears, and balloon swords & hats. Then on Saturday afternoon we went to a corn maze. It was lots of fun. It took us about 2 hours to get thorough it. The maze had stamps and clues along the way that we had to find and if you got your entire card filled out, you got a prize, which was a sticker or a sucker, and one shot with the corn gun. We were suppposed to go on a hay ride and pick out a pumpkin, but we got out of the corn maze too late. It was really fun! It was also pretty cold, but the kids didn't seem to mind the cold. They loved it. There was also rubber duck races that they could do and we took some fun pictures by some wooden mules. They made apple cider there that was so very delicious. Sunday morning, we got up and Michael was sick along with Thobe. Church was very nice in Lima. They have one ward that meets in the chapel. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Melissa had to run Alden home because he wasn't feeling so well. On our way home from church Melissa gave us a tour of Lima. It seems like a nice town.
It's been so nice to come and visit. Bridger seems to know just how to push Thobe's buttons. One night Thobe started crying and of course Bridger was behind the crying. The problem was that Thobe wanted the basement door open and Bridger was shutting it. Thobe gave up and went crying to his mom and Bridger opened the basement door and said "Why you crying Thobe? Don't be sad Thobe. Come and play with me." Thobe stopped crying and said ok and they went down stairs and played. It was pretty funny.
